Team Torchwood - or who's left of it, anyway - were last seen on our screens back in the summer of 2011 and three years later the show is still on its prolonged hiatus. Nobody seems to know if, or even when, the series will be back on our screens but that hasn't stopped its legion of worldwide fans speculating about what a fifth series could entail. Suffice to say, their last escapade didn't manage to take over the world in the way that producers had no doubt hoped. Miracle Day received mixed reviews from both fans and critics alike with many drawing light on the fact that it had seemingly abandoned its roots as part of its new co-partnership deal with US network Starz. It certainly wasn't the Torchwood that fans had grown to love but it was an attempt to breathe a new lease of life into a franchise that has continued to grow from strength to strength since its inception. So, what's next for Torchwood? Some believe it will never see the light of day again while the more hopeful have suggested that it could return in the form of a movie or a Netflix original.
