10 Things To Expect From Broadchurch Series 3

9. Another Murder

Broadchurch has homicidal DNA, so there's going to have to be a great big murder for Hardy and Miller to sink their teeth into. Chibnall cleverly sidestepped the matter of repeating himself by reviving the Sandbrook case from Hardy's past, rather than opt for another slaying in the town. However, to keep the show going a whole new killing will need to be introduced. This could occur in Broadchurch, a place with no shortage of murderous grudges, or elsewhere. Just as Chinatown haunted Jack Nicholson's Jake Gittes, so the programme title might come to mean a state of mind, leading to the prime snoopers travelling further afield. The success of the series across the globe may lead to a couple of plane tickets as much as a bus fare to the local beach. Everything would have to tie into the established characters though, so the familiar community of secrets is bound to return. Most likely, a crime will occur in the wake of Series 2's developments. There'd definitely be a long list of potential victims and perpetrators.
