10 Things We're All Waiting To See Happen In The Walking Dead

9. Who's Been Feeding The Walkers?

Happen Rats For a brief moment in €˜Infected€™ (S4 E02), there is a scene of walkers being fed rats under the dim glow of a flash light. Four episodes later, this mystery still hasn€™t been resolved, but it€™s been important in shaping many events at the prison. The walkers are pressing at the front door, but it€™s not on their own accord. Based on this scene, the walkers are merely a weapon, not the enemy itself. In an article listing 10 reasons to be concerned with this season of The Walking Dead, I discussed the travesty it would be if Lizzie were feeding the walkers. It€™s so easy to side-step the actions of children as naïve accidents, so this would diminish the impact of this tiny, but weighted moment. However, as the season has continued, Gimple has taken his time to polish every aspect of the show. He€™s been feeding the viewers more than just rats. As a result, I€™m inclined to believe the development and explanation of this scene is going to be treated with the care it deserves. With that in mind, here€™s my new prediction for who€™s been feeding the walkers. In the graphic novels, Bob Stookey is an ex-army medic and town drunk in Woodbury. He€™s taken a different route in the television series, but I€™m starting to suspect some cross over. After avoiding discussion about his previous groups with Daryl, it€™s clear that Bob has a troubled mind. He claims to have watched his past groups die, but he may be doing more than watching the death of the prison. If he has a past relationship with the Governor, then he may have been sent to take down the prison from the inside. Bob tells Daryl he needs a drink for €œwhen it gets quiet,€ perhaps alluding to the danger he puts the prison in after nightfall. He wants to drown a guilty conscience. If that€™s the case, then he may be the biggest rat in the prison.
