10 Things We Want From Netflix's Transformers: War For Cybertron

1. But No Planet Earth

Now, let's get this out of the way upfront. The second arc of War For Cybertron trilogy is called Earthrise and it focuses on bots in their Earth-based alt-modes. The chances that we're not going to go to Earth are practically non-existent.

We've been to Earth in every version of the Transformers franchise that I can think of. We've seen the turning point of the war on our planet so many times before, and so many of the Cybertronian artifacts (as well as Unicron himself in some continuities) are tied to the planet somehow. No doubt this series will show something massive happening on Earth from the second arc onwards.

The thing about Earth is, it tends to put Cybertronians into contact with the children of Earth (usually about three of them at a time) who give viewers something to help them imagine themselves a part of the show. This works brilliantly for children's cartoons, but this is not a show for children. This is for adults who already relate to these characters and don't need a human cipher to help that.

It's time to give Earth, or at least the human children as main characters concept, a rest.

After hearing that you are what you eat, Mik took a good hard look at his diet and realised he might just be a szechuan spare rib alongside prawn fried rice.
