10 Things Wrong With American Horror Story: Coven

9. Queenie Has Sex With A Minotour And It's Never Discussed Again

Halloween is when American Horror Story goes all out. They give us a two part mash-up. This year it involved zombies, an Evil Dead homage and, most importantly, Queenie seducing a Minotaur and having sex with him. Now with this we are forgiving because we believe it to have a purpose. We're not completely sure why Queenie has decided to become aroused by this Minotaur but we get on board, it's American Horror Story, we trust them, they've learnt from their mistakes. In addition, we know that American Horrror Story always relates - in some form or another - to the Devil and any Greek mythology buffs will now that when a human lays with a Minotaur it produces the Devil's spawn. Will Queenie, therefore, give birth to the Devil's child? No. In fact not only does this event not having any repercussions - besides Queenie being bed-ridden for an episode - it never comes up again. "Oh Queenie, remember that time when you slept with the Minotaur?" "Oh, Queenie, how are you after that event with the Minotaur?" Nothing. Not even a "I miss that Minotaur" slipping past Queenie's lips. It is never discussed. It, quite frankly, never happened. Which brings us back to the point made on the introductory page in which the writers have set up yet another great possible story-line - we're forgiving that it's mid season because it's such a good idea - and, it flops. The potential and the intrigue gets us excited and then we're told to not think about it. It never happened. What never happened? The possibility of a great story, that's what.
