Years before she took on her iconic role as the timid schoolgirl-turned powerful magic user in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Alyson Hannigan had already appeared in a television show that prominently featured a witch, Free Spirit. Hannigan appeared in all fourteen episodes of the show as Jessie Harper - the daughter of a divorcee who hired a good (but somewhat mischievous and vivacious) witch as a housekeeper. Jessie and her siblings were aware of Winnie's secret, but her father had no idea, and Winnie's spells often got the kids in trouble. Usual kids show fare.
