I don't know how they feel about tattoos on Krypton, but they might become a lot more fashionable in due course thanks to the new Supergirl (yeah, I know Krypton was destroyed, just go with it...). Benoist herself has three tattoos, although they haven't been spotted in the show (the long sleeves and boots help in that regard). She has a feather and the word 'free' on the back of her neck, a wolf on her wrist, and a bicycle on her ankle. She explained the reasoning behind the latter on The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson, telling him: "This is kinda embarrassing. I had never really learned how to ride a bicycle until I was 18 years old. And then I moved to New York City and that's where I learned to ride a bike. And it was liberating! And awesome!" And in less than a decade she's gone from riding a bike to learning to fly. However, while Supergirl might be able to withstand bullets, Benoist unfortunately doesn't have superhuman strength, admitting that getting the tattoos "hurt really bad."
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
