Season 3 provides more examples of foreshadowing their importance in the future, with a few specific lines suggesting where Dany's Season 6 arc could be headed, and yes, it involves FINALLY sailing to Westeros alongside her Dothraki hordes.
Jorah tells Dany: "The Dothraki follow strength above all Khaleesi. You'll have a true Khalasar when you prove yourself strong, and not before." The conversation seemed idealistic at the time, but now Daenerys is ruling a major city with three large dragons under her command, she can boast a display of power great enough to persuade the Khalasar across the Narrow Sea.
