10 Times Star Trek Foretold The Apocalypse

5. Fire Up The Fire Caves

We've just given most of an entry to the divine; we might as well give the devil a fair shot at it. When Winn Adami finally got the phone call from the Prophets she'd been waiting her whole life for, all was not what it seemed. She had unknowingly been chit-chatting with "the Evil Ones," aka the Pah-wraith. And whilst there was no number of the beast, he was named Anjohl 'Dukat' Tennan.

Winn's horror at the true nature of her late-in-the-day vision didn't last for long, making a quick turn to full-on fire starter. If you do fancy a bit of bedtime reading, we don't recommend the Book of the Kosst Amojan, although each to their own. It was basically a technical manual on how to release the anti-Prophets from the titular caves, enacting the so-called 'Restoration of Bajor'.

'Regular' Bajoran prophecy foretold that releasing the Pah-wraith would spell the end, though for Dukat and Adami, that was just the beginning of their reign over those deemed 'worthy'. The Pah-Wraith would re-conquer the Celestial Temple, destroy the Prophets, and if you do believe Dukat, "burn across […] the Alpha Quadrant" too. That's quite the galactic apocalypse "set in flames"! Luckily, the Emissary knew how to get the job done!
