10 TV Deaths We All Saw Coming (That Still Left Us Stunned)
1. Gustavo Fring - Breaking Bad
The tension between Walter White and Gus Fring, the New Mexico methylamine kingpin, was built up over the course of two seasons and there was eventually an unspoken acceptance that after so much tension it could only end with one of their deaths. We watched Walter White walk around with a target on his back for a season when actually Gus was doomed from the start, simply for being the antagonist.
And when the season barrelled towards an ending, with all the twists and turns that we could handle up to that point, it wasn't a question of whether the game of cat and mouse was going to end but how it was going to end. And I don't think anyone expected it to occur in a nursing home. For Hector Salamanca to be the one who pulled the trigger, figuratively speaking. Or for an image of half of the Chilean's face blown off seared into our brains forever.
