10 TV Deleted Scenes That Would Have Improved Their Shows
9. DI Hardy's Extended Tinder Date - Broadchurch
ITV crime drama Broadchurch rounded off its three-season run with detectives Alec Hardy and Ellie Miller on the trail of a serial sex attacker, and it pulled no punches in its handling of this challenging, and at times sensitive, subject matter.
The show's final run was darker than the previous two, but it did include a few lighter moments, such as DI Hardy's awkward Tinder date. If you've ever wondered how that ultimately played out, this deleted scene has the answer.
The extended sequence shows David Tennant's character walking his dinner partner Zoe home, and the date seems to have gone well, despite his best attempts to sabotage himself. Needless to say, dating doesn't come naturally to the detective inspector and his awkward dialogue is good for a chuckle.
Some extra comic relief wouldn't have done the third season of Broadchurch any harm, but the best thing this deleted scene would have added to the show is hope for the future. Zoe seemed keen to see Hardy again, so maybe he ultimately found happiness with her after the final episode's credits rolled.
