10 TV Moments Everyone Misunderstood As Kids

1. "Finger Prince" - Animaniacs

But the undisputed king of adult gags in "kid-friendly" TV shows? The "cameo" by Prince in Animaniacs' season one episode "Hercule Yakko."

Yakko tells Dot to dust for prints, and moments later, she tells Yakko that she "found Prince", while carrying the pop icon in her arms.

Yakko corrects her that he means fingerprints, complete with a vaguely suggestive finger gesture, before Prince turns to a concerned Dot with an inviting expression.

But Dot's not having any of it and tells him, "I don't think so", before throwing him out of a window.

There's innuendo, there's suggestiveness, and then there's even disturbing implications of hastened "girlhood", but how many other TV shows have straight-up made a joke about a young cartoon character fingering a legendary musician?

At least it's scrambled enough that there's basically zero chance of any child picking up on it. It sure makes an "enlightening" sit if you catch it again as a grown-up, though. Oof.
