10 TV Show Spin-Offs That Are Practically Flawless

4. Angel

Better Call Saul Gus Fring
Mutant Enemy

From: Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Like many great spinoffs, Angel had a lot riding on its shoulders going into its first season, but it quickly proved to be a worthy - and oftentimes superior - extension of the world and characters introduced in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Following vampire with a soul Angel as he sets out to fight the forces of darkness and hopefully regain his complete humanity, the moody drama introduced a host of fresh faces alongside familiar favourites, including Cordelia, Spike, and Wesley, and thrust them into a series of increasingly dark apocalyptic misadventures.

Exploring the seedier side of Buffy's supernatural underworld whilst taking great pleasure playing with the established mythology, Angel was inconsistent but never poor, always striving to push itself and its characters to the breaking point. It took risks, ended beautifully, and even at its worst made for extraordinary TV.
