10 TV Shows That Came Back From Cancellation

9. Airwolf

Back in the days when the most important things in a TV show were explosions and a cool synthesiser theme tune, there was Airwolf. The show centred around a high-tech, supersonic military helicopter and its crew (including the awesomely named Stringfellow Hawke) as they undertook various missions. The helicopter was designed by psycopathic genius, Dr. Charles Henry Moffet, and built by The Firm, a division of the CIA. Being a psychopath, Dr. Moffet decides to steal the helicopter, attack The Firm and travel to Libya to start running errands for Colonel Gadaffi. Stringfellow Hawke is the reclusive pilot chosen to recover the helicopter and return it to The Firm, who he continues to work for throughout the shows original 3 seasons. Although Airwolf would later develop a cult following, ratings were not that high during its initial run. That, combined with the shows inevitably high production costs, led to it being cancelled by CBS after the 3rd season. It was then picked up by The USA Network for a 4th season, featuring a completely new cast. The new season did not go down well with fans who criticised its poor special effects and numerous plot holes.

Created in a petri dish in an underground lab, I was originally designed by scientists to carry out high-profile assassinations for the CIA. Unfortunately, something went wrong and my only skill was writing list-based articles. So now I do that instead.
