The Expanse is a 2015 sci-fi epic centred on the crew of an Ice Hauler ship called The Canterbury.

One of the key members of this crew was the ship’s Medical Technician, Shed Garvey. Shed was introduced as an easy-going and level-headed individual who was generally well liked throughout the ship. During his short time on the show, he was shown to be a decent and selfless man who was willing to put himself in danger in order to protect the wellbeing of his shipmates.

It came as a rather unpleasant surprise to audiences when, only four episodes into the show’s lifespan, Shed made his final voyage. After being taken prisoner, the ship Shed and his crew were being held on came under attack from unknown gunships.

Whilst trying help his fellow captive cope with a panic attack, Shed stood up to hand him a relaxant. This would be his last moment of kindness as, for his trouble, he received a rail gun round to the throat, cleanly removing his head from his body.
