Under the Dome has never been any good. It was disappointing when it first aired, and it's disappointing now. Worst still, it's been poisoning the air for much too long (two seasons; third on the way) and unlike some shows that manage to transcend bad first seasons to become something worthwhile, in this case it just ain't happening. Based on the very superior Stephen King novel of the same name, the show tells the story of Chester's Mill - small-town America in microcosm - and its inhabitants, who find themselves trapped beneath an invisible dome and cut-off from the rest of society. Whereas that premise (and King's plotting) should have made for downright awesome television, the show feels stilted, the dialogue is awful, and the pacing leaves it feeling slow and very dull. And it doesn't seem likely that anybody can "fix" a problem like Under the Dome - not after two lackluster seasons. If the third season miraculously manages to steer the show into interesting territory, praise be to that person... but audiences don't really any more of this. Do the right thing: bow out and make room for something else.
