10 TV Shows That Went From Great To Terrible SO FAST

Remember Glee?

Not just the show itself, which was spikier than most recall but also clumsily sentimental in a way which never quite gelled. No, remember Glee the full blown phenomenon?

Hard as it may be to believe, there was a brief era during Glee’s first and second season when the show was a bonafide mega hit.

What began as a dark but ultimately kind hearted satire of small town America and its teen outcasts became a world tour, more hit songs than almost any actual musical artist in history, a Britney Spears cameo, an appearance on The Simpsons...

And then it all fell apart overnight.

Ryan Murphy's mega hit ruled the world for a moment thanks to the first season’s punchy wit and unexpected poignancy. But it all came crashing down with the disastrous second season.

Burdened with massive expectations, the writers immediately made it clear they couldn’t handle the pressure. Countless themed episodes, clumsily mishandled “messages”, and far too much pouty Will Schuester ensured that this show plummeted from popularity as fast as it rose. Within a few episodes of the show‘s season two premiere, it was clear that Glee’s time in the spotlight had passed.
