Everyone knows that Chevy Chase is a difficult guy to work with. For a while, his career was in the tanks. There were no Fletchs, no Christmas Vacations. Then came Community, and Chase was in the news again. In the spotlight again. The comeback didn't last long. Now, lets be fair: Dan Harmon, who ran Community, is a self-professed asshole. He's also known to be eccentric. He and Chase didn't see eye-to-eye on Chase's character, Pierce Hawthorne, which led to a lot of butting of heads. Harmon famously led cast members to chant profanities at Chase during the show's third season wrap party, and publicly played angry voice mails from the actor. In the end, Chase would leave the show, telling the Hollywood reporter that "Dan and I are friends again. He's brilliant and can be very funny. The reason I wanted to do the show in the first place was Dan's writing. And I stand by that." Not a bad exit, after all the drama, but it got worse for Hamon: he was fired from his own show for his behaviour, that included being late to set, and at least once disappearing for several days. Not to mention, you know, butting heads with actors like Chase, and just being generally nuts. He wound up rehired in the end, but NBC would cancel the show in 2014 after five seasons - only for Yahoo to pick it up for a sixth season of 13 episodes.
