Syfy have quietly been increasing the quality of their output over the past couple of years, which means they have some shows going largely unnoticed that are well worth checking out.

Chief among them is The Magicians, which is currently halfway through its third season. The premise follows a group of students at a magical school who also discover a Narnia-like world, and after a stuttering first season the show has grown into something pretty great.

It's been compared as a successor to Buffy and, while it's not at that level (at least not yet), it does make sense, ramping up the danger and excitement along the way.
