10 TV Sitcom Stars Who Couldn't Break The Movies

9. Lucy Davis

The original iteration of The Office has one of the best TV to movie transition ratios. Ricky Gervais’ movie work has been plentiful if questionable, and Mackenzie Crook and especially Martin Freeman have had superb results, major roles in huge franchises.

The exception is Lucy Davis. As Dawn Tinsley she was every bit as important as the other Office actors, but has found far less success in Hollywood. A major role in 2004 Brit comedy Shaun Of The Dead was a solid start, but it has been slim pickings since then - when the Garfield sequel is a high point, something’s not going so well.

Her appearance in Wonder Woman was all the more surprising with this in mind. She played a key role in Etta Candy, but the sheer incongruousness of her appearance only emphasised how long it had been since we’d seen her in anything of significance.

Davis’ TV career had continued to tick along well enough (though she had been less prolific of late), and she remains a good and recognisable actor. This one simply seems like a case of bad luck.
