2. A Dexter Prequel

Young Dexter
Showtime

Ah Dexter - the show that ended so badly they had to make a limited series seven years later to smooth things over.

The chronicles of nice guy serial killer Dexter Morgan were a huge hit for the Showtime network back in the day, with star Michael C. Hall becoming a big name off the back of them.

After the pretty rubbish finale, Dexter: New Blood turned up in 2021 to apparently tie a bow around the series.

Apparently...

Not only is New Blood returning for a second season, this time focusing on Dexter's son Harrison, but an entirely new show is also in the pipeline.

Under the working title Dexter: Origins, a prequel series was ordered by Showtime's new overlords Paramount+. The story will us back to when the title character was in his twenties and explore what drove him to think that killing bad people was an alright thing to do.

The name still holds a lot of sway, but not nearly as much as it used to. It'll be interested to see just how well Origins does or whether it follows the same path as its main character.
