10 TV Stars Who Controversially Left Their Hit Shows
8. Ashton Kutcher - That 70s Show
Topher Grace may have played the main character on the popular teen comedy That 70s Show, but Ashton Kutcher was undoubtedly its biggest star. The role of the pretty yet oh-so-stupid Michael Kelso turned the young actor into an overnight celebrity. The difference between his level of fame before the show started and after it had been on the air for a couple of years was like night and day. So naturally, it was only a matter of time before the film industry would come calling for America's hottest new heartthrob. For a while, he was able to balance his television commitments with his burgeoning film career, but he couldn't keep that up forever. After That 70s Show's seventh season, shooting conflicts with The Guardian forced him to leave the show that had established him as an actor. Luckily for him, it doesn't seem to have hurt his career very much -- he's been a leading man film star for over a decade and is currently pulling in an extravagant salary for taking Charlie Sheen's place on Two and a Half Men.
