10 TV Villains You Wish Got More Screen Time

2. Daenerys Targaryen - Game Of Thrones

The biggest issue with Game of Thrones' final season lies in its treatment of Daenerys Targaryen, the Mother of Dragons who for eight seasons had slowly but surely made her way to the mainland to claim the Iron Throne.

Whereas the rest of the fantasy epic had been meticulously planned out, slow-burning and compelling, the final season decided to rush to the finish line. Within only a handful of episodes, Dany goes from virtuous queen seeking redemption to angry villain no one can root for.

Her turn to villainy is obvious in hindsight (and, it should be said, brilliant), but even so its execution is painfully upsetting, throwing away years of fan investment and making her final fate feel disappointingly unearned.

Had the writers slowed things down and spent a bit more time building up her downfall, it would have massively improved the entire series, and Game of Thrones wouldn't be remembered today for dropping the ball at the last second.
