The Hoboken Zephyrs baseball team is in the cellar of the National League to begin this season 1 story. In a last-ditch effort, Manager ‘Mouth’ McGarry recruits a robot named Casey who throws unhittable fastballs. Just when the Zephyrs’ fortunes start to turn, the National League finds a loophole to slow down the Mighty Casey.

Only humans are allowed to play under the rules and Casey doesn’t have a heart. Casey’s inventor counters by giving him an artificial heart. Although he has a new heart, Casey no longer has the heart to easily strikeout countless opponents.

Casey’s artificial heart proved to be a competitive disadvantage. Recently, artificial limbs that give competitors an advantage has been a topic of debate. In 2012, The ‘Blade Runner’ Oscar Pistorius was the first double amputee to compete in the Olympics. However, he did not compete in 2008 due to his artificial limbs being deemed an unfair advantage.
