For so long we knew that Woody Allen was making a series for Amazon, but didn't really have any idea what it'd be about, or even what it'd be called. Even with that lack of information, it was rather exciting to think about. Now, with some big details revealed, it's even more promising.

Allen has written and directed the series, titled Crisis in Six Scenes, and will be starring in it too. He'll be playing Sidney Muntzinger, a name so incredibly Woody Allen-ish it's a shock it hasn't be used before, and the show itself will take place in the 1960s, during turbulent times in the United States, and a middle class suburban family is visited by a guest who turns their household completely upside down.

Aside from Allen, the cast also includes Elaine May and (a little more surprisingly) Miley Cyrus. The 'trailer' for the show, which is actually just a clip from it, showcases the exact sort of dry humour you'd expect from Allen, and this probably won't differ too much from his movies. We'll just hope it's like one of the earlier, funny ones.
