9. The Jetsons
The Original: The futuristic animated family sitcom only ran from 1962-1963, but its impact was big enough to produce a short mid-1980s run and movie. Much like the other famous Hanna-Barbera family sitcom, The Flintstones, The Jetsons centered on a family man (George Jetson) trying to balance the ups and downs of family and work life. The contrast was that George was constantly getting himself into trouble with technology, instead of prehistoric beasts.
The Reboot: While it’s been over 50 years since The Jetsons debut and we still aren’t zipping around on jetpacks, technology has come a long way. The big difference here is that this ABC reboot will be a live-action version, rather than animation. No casting has been announced yet, but considering ABC’s current run of hit comedies (Modern Family, The Goldbergs, Black-ish) the show would be in good company.
Chance Of Survival: Being that Hollywood can do almost anything with CGI these days and Back to the Future’s Robert Zemeckis will be executive producer, a 2018 version of The Jetsons could be pretty damn cool.
