That awkward moment when your best bro tries to kill you and steal your life. This is betrayal of the highest order. In the penultimate episode of season 2 Shane leads Rick out in an elaborate wild goose chase for a man he has already killed. The pain begins early on in this sequence when you realize Rick knows whats going on and plays along. Feeling so strongly for a friend that you are willing to give them any opportunity to redeem themselves is something we have all felt at some point. They both eventually give up pretense and that's where all of the feelings come out. Whats surprising is that Rick actually decides to fight for his wife and children, but he lies to his friend to do it. This shows how feral the human heart can be and this has nothing to do with the deadies. Shanes death marks the first major time Rick compromises his morality to survive for his family. This entry is the most terrifying because its the most relatable. It represents an impossible choice that we would all actually make shockingly quickly and wed rather not think about that. So thanks Shane.
