Speaking of the Gorch Family, the Bezoar featured in the very same episode, Bad Eggs. And like the Gorch clan, it just didn't work - for completely different reasons. The Bezoar, visually, was actually sort of cool, but it was totally immobile, stuck behind a broken pile of bricks in the basement of Sunnydale High, and you only ever really saw its eye. Which means that, when the Bezoar ate Tector Gorch, you pretty much saw nothing. Same when Buffy killed it with a pick axe. The Bezoar's children took over many of the students and teachers of Sunnydale high, acting as controlling parasites, but it was the big bad mother Bezoar fans wanted to see, and they never got to. Chalk this one to the budget constraints.
