To be totally fair, the only reason Betty's on this list and Don isn't is because Don has at least shown some signs of growth over the course of the past season, whereas Betty has actually regressed, if anything. Don has always been an absentee father, but he's learning the value of being honest with his children, and he's beginning to develop a legitimate bond with Sally. Betty, on the other hand, still seems like a small child playing house, and doesn't seem to have any interest in her kids outside of the nuclear family image. She's petulant and holds grudges against her children, somehow able to make their minor infractions all about her. Like the time Sally breaks her nose, and rather than offering her sympathy, she tells her off, saying, "I gave you that nose!" When little Bobby trades away her sandwich to a girl whose parents sent her on a field trip with only candy for lunch, she huffs and puffs and lets it ruin the whole day for both of them. She's earned Sally's hostility, and seems to be giving poor Bobby anxiety problems as he lives in fear of upsetting her. God bless Henry -- he's the only adult in that house.
