10 Worst Things Homer Simpson Has Done
1. Frames Marge For Drink Driving
This incident, from Season 15’s Co-Dependents’ Day, is so recklessly out of character and needlessly cruel that it has to top the list. The general premise of the episode, with Marge developing a drinking habit to match Homer’s, is strong enough, but like Marge & Homer most weekends, it’s completely wasted.
Having Marge and Homer spend time together is usually a reliable formula - it’s been used four times as A-plot so far in Season 30’s 13 episodes - but it doesn’t really get off the ground here. Having them bond by bringing Marge down to Homer’s level is interesting, but unfortunately it only makes Homer stoop even further.
Following a wine tasting session, the pair spend several weekends doing some heavy drinking, until the incessant hangovers cause Marge to call it a day. They still go to Octoberfest, with Marge’s plan to stay sober quickly going south.
With them both drunk, Homer drives home with Marge passed out. However, following an accident, the car ends upside down with the cops bearing down on them. Worried he’ll lose his license, Homer quickly switches places and puts an unconscious Marge in the driver’s seat, landing her in Alcoholics Anonymous.
