10 Worst Things Homer Simpson Has Done

Homer even getting into space in the first place could top the list of his greatest achievements, even if he did almost cause disaster when he was up there. It should be stated that Homer was only chosen after prank calling NASA just as they were looking for the average American, and even then only beat Barney by default after the local alcoholic’s drinking got the better of him, but still; good on Homer anyway.

By the episode’s end, Homer is irritated that an inanimate carbon rod gets all the credit for sealing the door shut. However, while Homer did jam in there, that was only by accident after he attempted to smash another astronaut’s face with it. Plus, it only needed sealing in the first place because Homer had snapped the handle off.

The debate could be made that it’s all NASA’s fault anyway, taking such an inexperienced astronaut up there, but their culpability only goes so far.

Don’t forget, the only reason Homer was desperately gripping the door in the first place was because he’d opened a bag of ruffled chips in the spacecraft.
