4. Agent Elvis
Who. On. Earth. Signed off on this? That's the question you'll probably be asking, on repeat, whilst watching Netflix's latest adult animation, Agent Elvis, a series which re-imagines the King of Rock as a globetrotting secret agent.
Starring Matthew McConaughey in the eponymous role, who's trying painfully hard to emulate Presley's voice with every "thank you very much" stereotype in the book, Agent Elvis is excessive and violent, but not particularly inventive nor as subversive and witty as it clearly thinks it is.
With cheesy one-liners and un-engaging animation, the comedy is basically one joke stretched over ten increasingly mindless spectacles of violence. It's an idea Netflix couldn't resist -- it certainly sounds promising... in the right hands, that is -- but didn't think about too much before throwing its first (and hopefully last) season out.
