12 Awesome Cartoon Christmas Specials To Get You In The Festive Mood

1. How The Grinch Stole Christmas (1966)

Xm11 Christmas is all about tradition and more importantly receiving presents. In terms of visual entertainment most of us tend to watch the same thing every year (if you're normal it's the winning combo of Elf & Die Hard). There is nothing wrong with this as it's the classics that really bring people together and what better way to promote the holidays than with a story depressed green joy thief? My number one is of course Dr. Seuss' 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas.' There are some who will call out in support of the Jim Carrey adaptation but in my opinion the 1966 animation is the way to go. It's beautifully imagined, still holding up well today and of course it's one of the best Christmas stories ever told. I don't really need to go into the narrative as if you haven't seen it, you probably live on some barren tundra without human contact, thus you're not who I'm talking to right now. Do yourself a favour and get snuggled in with some sort of festive beverage, forget the rage brought on by Christmas shopping and enjoy the whimsical adventures of the Grinch. It has a happy ending that never ceases to be heart-warming and its delightful visuals and rhymes warrant repeat viewings across the holiday season. How merry are you feeling this December?
