Here you go, Daryl fans... Many people may go out of their way to criticise the merch-money-making machine due to his rampant popularity with TWD's fanbase, but there's no denying Daryl is a great character and that Norman Reedus is playing him perfectly. For a start, there's less pressure on Reedus to live up to expectations of the comic book readers, simply because he doesn't exist in them. He wasn't even intended to make it out of the first season, but Reedus' performance was so impressive the writers kept him in play. He's troubled, he's distant, he's isolated, but he's also caring, protective, and full of heart, even if he doesn't always show it. The hype-train is overflowing, but it's not hard to see why.
