12 Best Supporting Characters In The Buffyverse

6. Wesley Wyndam-Pryce

wesley-wyndham-pryce Wesley (Alexis Denisof) was the character who underwent the some of the biggest changes in the Buffyverse. Starting out as Buffy and Faith's incompetent, inexperienced and bumbling Watcher in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, he ended up as the badass, demon-slaying, tough-as-nails magic expert in Angel. In Buffy the Vampire Slayer, he was pompous, cowardly and didn't elicit any respect from his slayers or from Rupert Giles. He had an awkward kiss with Cordelia Chase following a season of flirting with her and proved to be utterly useless in the final fight against the evil Mayor. He then showed up in Angel as a self-proclaimed 'rogue demon hunter', where his abilities have improved somewhat, but he's still rather laughable. But he develops, in time, to a hardened warrior who people take seriously. Fearlessly wielding axes, swords and even a shotgun, Wesley becomes someone who isn't to be messed with. He is romantically linked to the evil Lilah Morgan and fellow team Angel member Fred Burkle. He is pivotal to team Angel and ultimately dies in the final battle with the Circle of the Black Thorn, having been sent to confront their mystic Cyvus Vail - to whom he is vastly inferior in a magical sense.
