12 Biggest Unanswered Game Of Thrones Mysteries

4. Who Will Be Azor Ahai Reborn?

Game of Thrones Jon Snow Daenerys

The Night King is the biggest danger to Westeros. The second coming of Azor Ahai, meanwhile, might well be the one to defeat him. The legendary figure came forth when the world was shrouded in darkness to bring the light, and is likely the same hero as in other cultures: the Last Hero, Yin Tar, Hyrkoon and so on.

For Azor Ahai, or The Prince(ss) That Was Promised (there are differences, but it's easiest to conflate them), the prophecies state he/she will be "born amidst salt and smoke, beneath a bleeding star" to wake dragons from stone, and bring forth the sword Lightbringer.

While a number of characters have elements that could fit, from Jaime Lannister to Sandor Clegane, it's almost certainly Jon Snow or Daenerys, who represent Ice and/or Fire and have the supposedly requisite Targaryen blood. In fact, a likely solution is that one of them is Azor Ahai and the other the beloved Nissa Nissa.

Or it's Hot Pie.
