12 Friends Actors Who Are No Longer With Us

11. Peter Dennis

Who Was He? Peter Dennis enjoyed numerous roles across film and television, including the likes of Sideways and The Avengers (the non-Marvel one), but he'll be best known for performing the works of A.A. Milne on stage, which he did for 30 years in his one-man show Bother! The Brain of Pooh (winning 8 Critics' Choice Awards along the way), and in various voice recordings for audiobooks. He was diagnosed with cancer in 2007, and passed away in 2009, aged 75.

Role On Friends: He played Sherman Whitfield in The One Where No One's Ready. Once the gang finally actually get out of Monica's apartment and to Ross' function, he's the one who then has the last gag by taking Chandler's chair, telling him that he "left the seating area." The episode also featured a nod to his work, with Chandler's line to Joey: "In the words of A.A. Milne, get out of my chair, dillhole!"
