The over-riding question seems to be of who will end up on the Iron Throne by the time the books come to an end. But that is only part of the question. The Theory Idealists would probably hope that Dany ends up on the Iron Throne, with Tyrion installed as Hand, the Starks restored to Winterfell under Jon Snow and pretty much everyone else either banished forever or dead in a big pile. But this is George Martin's world, and idealism isn't a particularly strong shield against steel blades, so you can bet something won't turn out that perfectly. Either way, whether Martin decides to let villainy prevail or crowns a fan favourite, someone has to win.
