12 Incredible TV Episodes (That Fans HATED)

9. Home - The X-Files

Breaking Bad The Fly
Fox

Iconic nineties sci-fi hit The X-Files was occasionally criticized for being too light in tone and failing to take its conspiracies and monsters of the week seriously—shout out to the underrated Lone Gunmen, killed off for the crime of being too funny (and also maybe sort of predicting 9/11).

However, Home, the most dark and disturbing episode of the show, certainly does not suffer with this problem.

This Hills Have Eyes homage, featuring gory cannibalism and implied incest, was way too much for many viewers. These fans shied away from the intense and grotesque horror odyssey and, although that’s an understandable choice, it still doesn’t excuse the outsized hate thrown at this superb and horrifying episode.
