Patrick Stewart's career has flourished after leaving Star Trek shows and films behind, but there is no denying he is yet to inhabit shoes as iconic as his Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Professor X came close though).

So it is with grand anticipation that this new show, seeing him reprise Picard, arrives at month's end.

Refreshingly, the show deems to break away from the standard Trek series formula and focuses itself as a thriller/character study about an elderly Picard, mourning the death of his android friend Data.

Modern Trek has been a mixed bag for fans, both on the big and small screen. Yet, there's no denying that this is pure quality fan-service and could be simply incredible...let's hope it sticks the landing.
