12 Most INSANE Star Trek Theories

3. Khan Wiped Out India And China

Despite making up a huge portion of the Earth's population, there has always been a distinct lack of Chinese and Indian characters appearing onscreen in Star Trek media. This is most likely down to the implicit bias and systemic racism within the film and television industry's systems of hiring and casting roles.

But then again, it could be down to... KHAAAAAAAAN!?!?!?!

Khan Noonien Singh is one of the most powerful enemies the Enterprise crew ever faced, seeing as he was responsible for a huge amount of the devastation caused during the Eugenics Wars of the mid-1990s. This theory states that he wiped out much of these regions' populations, and the following nuclear attacks of World War III only decimated them further.

This could be a canonical explanation towards the very small amount of Asian representation within the Star Trek universe. Even so, we probably shouldn't let the casting directors off the hook, just in case.
