12 New Characters Set To Appear In Game Of Thrones Season 6

2. Father - And His Family

Description (father): Aged 50€™s to 60€™s, he€™s one of the greatest soldiers in Westeros- a humourless martinet, severe and intimidating. He demands martial discipline in the field and in his home. It€™s described as 'a very good part' for next year and that he€™s centrally involved in a protagonist€™s storyline." Who It Could Be: All the signs point to this being Randyll Tarly, Sam€™s father, as the description of his character certainly fits with what we€™ve heard about him. He€™s already been mentioned by Stannis this season, and it seems as though that will have been more than just a throwaway line. Descriptions (mother/sister/brother): €œIn her 50€™s. She€™s a sweet, plump, and adoring mother, and has a soft spot for one of her children who benefits from her decency.€ / €œIn her early 20s. She€™s a kind, friendly and unpretentious woman.€ / €œIn his early to mid-20€™s. Athletic, a good hunter, an excellent swordsman, manly, not particularly bright but the favourite child of the father.€ Who They Could Be: These are likely to be the rest of the Tarly family: Sam€™s mother Melessa Florent, one of his sisters, and his brother Dickon, who is everything Sam's not, and everything his father wanted in a child. The Tarlys, in particular Randyll, could well have a part to play at King€™s Landing next year, as he ends up there in the books. However, given the fact he hasn€™t appeared yet, and with Sam still possibly headed to Oldtown, he could instead be involved in that storyline. Particularly if there€™s an attack on the Reach, home of not only Oldtown but also Highgarden (Tarly is a Tyrell bannerman), by another character set to appear€
