12 New Characters Set To Appear In Game Of Thrones Season 6
2. Father - And His Family
Description (father): Aged 50s to 60s, hes one of the greatest soldiers in Westeros- a humourless martinet, severe and intimidating. He demands martial discipline in the field and in his home. Its described as 'a very good part' for next year and that hes centrally involved in a protagonists storyline." Who It Could Be: All the signs point to this being Randyll Tarly, Sams father, as the description of his character certainly fits with what weve heard about him. Hes already been mentioned by Stannis this season, and it seems as though that will have been more than just a throwaway line. Descriptions (mother/sister/brother): In her 50s. Shes a sweet, plump, and adoring mother, and has a soft spot for one of her children who benefits from her decency. / In her early 20s. Shes a kind, friendly and unpretentious woman. / In his early to mid-20s. Athletic, a good hunter, an excellent swordsman, manly, not particularly bright but the favourite child of the father. Who They Could Be: These are likely to be the rest of the Tarly family: Sams mother Melessa Florent, one of his sisters, and his brother Dickon, who is everything Sam's not, and everything his father wanted in a child. The Tarlys, in particular Randyll, could well have a part to play at Kings Landing next year, as he ends up there in the books. However, given the fact he hasnt appeared yet, and with Sam still possibly headed to Oldtown, he could instead be involved in that storyline. Particularly if theres an attack on the Reach, home of not only Oldtown but also Highgarden (Tarly is a Tyrell bannerman), by another character set to appear
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
