The end of 2014 is nigh and the past 12 months have certainly left Doctor Who fans with a lot of things to mull over. Peter Capaldi joined the ranks as the twelfth - no, thirteenth - incarnation of the titular Time Lord, there were new and old friends and foes alike and one particular old foe even had a sex change. Suffice it's to say, it's been a rollercoaster. It''s been said by... someone that there are many lessons to be learned in Doctor Who but sometimes it can be difficult to distinguish between what's there to enlighten us and what's just been thrown in to contribute to our abundance of timey-wimey induced headaches.
