12 Times The Simpsons Went Dark

7. Homer's Daydream

Simpsons Dark Moe

Homer has a complicated relationship with his father.

Ever since the first season, they've shown to have no the most stable of father-son relationships. They fight, Homer doesn't enjoy spending much time with him and Abe constantly makes jabs at what a disappointment he is.

Even though they poke fun at the fact that they're not very close, we got a disturbing look at just how toxic their relationship can be. In one particularly uncomfortable scene, we see Homer and his dad driving down the street at night until there is an accident that leaves Grandpa critically injured.

When he says he'll need Homer's aid to get back to health, possibly putting a strain on his finances and free-will, Homer begins suffocating him. He puts his hand over his nose and mouth and cuts off his father's oxygen until he finally passes on. But, don't worry because it turn out that this was all a daydream... oh, wait.

The fact that this is something that Homer daydreams about is really shocking, showing that he holds some serious resentment towards his father. When the daydream ends, Homer's asked what he was doing, he actually replies with, "Having the most wonderful dream." Where could this unhealthy, unresolved hatred be coming from?

Well...
