4. Saved By The Bell: A Joke About Princess Diana Dying (A Decade Early)

This is one of those quick, meaningless jokes that you can't help but cringe at all these years later. If you happen to be frequently revisiting Saved By The Bell episodes, that is.

In the episode "Cream for a Day" from Season 1, Kelly is running for homecoming queen and is very concerned about her appearance, which becomes a problem when she gets a zit later on. In this scene, she asks her friends how she looks, adding, "I want to be queen!" Lia responds by saying, "we'll let you know if anything happens to Princess Di!"

Oh Lord.

"Cream for a Day" aired on October 7, 1989, nearly a decade before Princess Diana was killed in a car accident. This one isn't a case of poor timing, and it isn't even a particularly memorable joke. Instead, it's one of those things that comes as a total shock when going back through the series, a reminder of a far more innocent time when nobody expected something like that could happen.
