12 TV Shows In Serious Danger Of Cancellation In 2020

8. Bluff City Law

The Flash
NBC

Bluff City Law is a legal drama set at a civil rights law firm in Memphis, Tennessee. The show successfully combines procedural elements with interpersonal drama and centers around Sydney Strait, a killer corporate lawyer. In the pilot, Sydney returns to her estranged father’s civil rights law firm after the death of her mother. Working alongside the sharply defined series regulars, Sydney takes on some very sticky cases with an admirable sense of purpose and fortitude.

Despite the high praise for Sydney, the real draw comes from seeing Jimmy Smits back in the courtroom years after his run on L.A. Law. Though times have changed, Jimmy barely has: he manages to exude confidence and just the right amount of vulnerability in his portrayal of a man who has made some regrettable decisions in his lifetime.

In spite of the positive elements about Bluff City Law, the ratings were ultimately not what NBC was expecting, considering a lead-in from The Voice. No further episodes have been ordered, but word is that the final decision will be made in the Spring. In all likelihood, this engaging drama will not see a second season.
