12 TV Shows That Just Got Cancelled

All good (and bad) shows must come to an end.

It's that time of year again.

May brings with it the season finales of most network shows, and for some it signals the end of the entire series. We're approaching Upfronts, when the big networks will reveal their new shows for the all-important fall season, and that means there's some spring cleaning to do first.

There are hundreds of scripted shows getting made every year, and unfortunately (or not, as the case may be) not all of them can keep on surviving, whether it's after one year, like much-missed Firefly, or several, such as the cancellation-defying Community (which has sadly succumbed, for now).

2016 is no different. Futures of several shows were hanging in the balance, and now we know their fates. Supergirl, for instance, is getting a second season...however, it'll be on The CW, rather than CBS. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., meanwhile, will be getting a fourth season, but it's potential spin-off, the Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood starring Marvel's Most Wanted, hasn't been picked up by ABC.

Indeed it's the Disney-owned network who have been the most ruthless so far, cutting more shows than anyone else. The list spans across the networks though, with 12 shows in total cancelled yesterday. Some were deserving, others, rather less so.

12. Bordertown

While Family Guy and American Dad continue to run and run, Seth MacFarlane's latest animated comedy, Bordertown, lasted just the one season.

Created by Family Guy writer Mark Hentemann (MacFarlane was executive producer), and with Hank Azaria leading the voice cast, Bordertown focused on two families living in a Southwest desert town on the USA-Mexico border (titled Mexifornia - I'm guessing they all got to go home early that day).

Despite only debuting in January, the show's struggled for both quality and viewers, so it's not much of a surprise Fox have pulled the plug.
