12 TV Shows That Just Got Cancelled
4. Superstore
Superstore has kept viewers laughing since 2015 but Cloud 9 will be closing its doors in the very near-future as NBC announced that the long-running show's sixth season - which has already started airing - will be its last.
We've already discussed how hard it can be for sitcoms to work in this modern age of endless selection but Superstore worked hard to subvert expectations. Its first season brought in impressive viewing figures but it wasn't a major hit with critics. Not one to rest on its laurels, it improved a great deal with subsequent seasons receiving critical acclaim, with most of praise going towards its quirky ensemble of characters and the cast that brought them to life.
It's not clear if the show was cancelled for any particular reason or if the decision was just made to naturally conclude the story but the departure of main cast member America Ferrera earlier this season certainly indicated that its time was limited.
It's definitely the end of an era but Superstore carved out an impressive legacy, becoming the-little-show-that-could in the process.
