12 TV Shows You Didn't Know Were Linked
1. The Wire And The X-Files And Arrested Development And Plenty More
These shows are linked by a character you've likely never heard of. However, he has appeared in so many popular properties that he's technically one of the most decorated roles in the business. That character is John Munch, a detective who has popped up in ten different titles including The X-Files, Arrested Development, The Wire and even Sesame Street.
It seems that this character is the biggest in-joke within TV, as his frequent cameos in numerous productions have no real reason outside of comedy. The character - played by Richard Belzer - debuted his illustrious career with the American crime drama Homicide: Life on the Street. From there he's been seen interrogating the future Lone Gunmen in the X-Files, being the "Professor of Scrapbooking" in Arrested Development, and has even appeared in the 2016 comic-book Spiderman/Deadpool #6.
John Munch has been a staple of TV, without you even realising it. Why this character became such a significant source of humour is uncertain, but he acts as an excellent linking point for plenty of projects.
