12 Worst Time Travel Goofs In The Flash (So Far)

10. They’ve Created Gaping Holes In Continuity

The Flash Time Travel
The CW

Flashpoint Wally claimed he gained his superspeed powers when he was struck by lightning while drag-racing and testing a new nitro formula. It’s the old comic book chemicals and electricity origin story, with no mention of the dark matter that created Our Flash, or any of the Central City metahumans from the original timeline.

In the Flashpoint timeline, Ramon Industries is where S.T.A.R. Labs used to be. The site doesn’t appear damaged, and Flashpoint Cisco himself doesn’t seem to be affected, financially, physically or otherwise, by any city wide catastrophe.

In fact, from all the available evidence there doesn’t appear to have been any Flashpoint version of the dark matter wave in 2014. How did the Rival gain his powers? And what about the other Flashpoint metahumans?

If Ramon Industries wasn’t responsible for the creation of Central City’s metahumans, then how does Flashpoint Cisco already know the Flash’s secret identity, and why did he reluctantly work with Wally and Iris to provide Flashpoint Flash with a friction-proof costume?

Come to that, where is Dr. Harrison Wells and his world-changing research? In the original Flash timeline, Wells was about to start S.T.A.R. Labs before Thawne killed him and stole his life and career. In Flashpoint, Thawne couldn’t have killed Wells. Did someone or something else remove him from the equation?

These are all questions which could have been easily answered, had anyone running this show thought to have them asked. Since no one did ask them, we’re left with huge gaps in Flashpoint’s continuity that make no sense: and ‘making no sense’ is the kiss of death for a time travel storyline.
